Before he died, Lenin asked:
to be burried next to his mother in St. Petersberg
that there be no statues of him
that Stalin should not be his successor
It appears to me that, for one of the most influential people of the 20th centuary, Lenin wasn't listened to all that much.

It is little known fact that Lenin actually means 'man of leasure'...Lenin had such a casual demeanour that people just smiled and nodded; he seemed an amiable chap.
